Assistant/Associate Professor of Counselor Education and Program Director


Position Description:

Springfield College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Counselor Education and Psychology. The successful candidate must have demonstrated leadership/administrative skills to serve as the Graduate Program Coordinator for five master’s level graduate programs. We have particular interest in a candidate who would be prepared to lead our CACREP self-study and accreditation process. Teaching responsibilities include master’s level counseling coursework, supervising fieldwork (3 courses per semester), and advising/mentoring students.


Position Qualifications:

Successful candidates must have an earned doctorate in Counselor Education from a regionally accredited institution and 3-5 years’ experience in a CACREP approved program, graduate teaching experience in clinical mental health and/or school counseling, and demonstrated clinical experience. The successful candidate will have an active research program or evidence of research potential. Clinical licensure is strong preferred. Our department has an applied research orientation that includes a large undergraduate major, five master’s degree programs, and an APA accredited Psy.D. Counseling Psychology. We seek applicants whose research, teaching, outreach, and service will contribute to the department’s social justice and diversity focus, while integrating with and complementing existing Department strengths.
